Genevieve
Geneviève Racette is a bilingual folk-pop singer-songwriter from Dorval, Quebec, celebrated for her heartfelt storytelling and warm, ethereal voice. Singing in both French and English, she has carved out a space at the crossroads of folk, pop, and Americana, captivating audiences with intimate, emotional performances.
Racette released her debut EP in 2014, followed by Les aurores boréales (2016) and Covers (2017). Her breakthrough came with No Water, No Flowers (2019), her first English-language album, which earned her the Canadian Folk Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year and led to performances at major festivals including Osheaga. In 2022 she unveiled Satellite, praised by outlets such as Rolling Stone, CBC, and Exclaim!, and featuring a duet with Dallas Green of City and Colour.
Her most recent record, Golden (2024), is her most personal to date, exploring themes of sobriety, friendship, self-love, and resilience. The album debuted at #3 on the Folk Alliance International charts, with its track “The Reasons (I’ll Be Alright)” featured in the TV series Heartland.
