Bio: Eloquently blending synth-folk, moody pop, and soaring vocal harmonies, Babes In Canyon crafts music that is eminently engaging and very much of the moment. With a spate of tours, festivals, and live performances under their belt, songwriters Nathan Hamer and Amanda Ebert conjure up layered soundscapes, “looping keys, beats, percussion effortlessly in an electric, raucous live performance” (Atwood Magazine).

Born of a spontaneous writing session during a blackout, the band wandered naturally into the land of heavy beats, lyrics with an element of storytelling, and synth-folk instrumentation with a twist.

With their first two EPs and latest single receiving praise from the likes of Under The Radar, Magnet, and Atwood Magazine, Babes In Canyon’s debut album “The New Loud” is set to release in 2025. Bio: Based in Victoria, BC, Jesse Roper is a blues/Americana artist with a penchant for writing modern indie-infused blues music and delivering bombastic live performances buoyed by his virtuosic guitar playing. His innate and impressive musical talent has served him well, giving him the flexibility to play with soul icon Booker T. Jones, rock veteran Colin James, blues belter Beth Hart, and Canadian legend Burton Cummings. The stage is where Roper shines. It has been his home since overcoming crippling stage fright during his early twenties. Fear is a part of Roper’s past that barely seems real today - especially when you see the in-concert image of a six-string soldier, hair matted to his face, tearing up the stage without a hint of second-guessing.

Roper’s last album ‘Horizons’ marked a sonic high point in his career thus far. Working closely with famed JUNO-nominated producer Gus van Go (Metric, The Stills, Whitehorse, Arkells, The Trews, Sam Roberts) on that new collection of songs has pushed Roper into creating some of his best work. “Recording with Gus was on a whole new level.

Roper latest releases are energetic, fresh, soulful and R&B-inspired tracks from a forthcoming LP that harkens the voices of JJ Cale, The Teskey Brothers, Leon Bridges, Ben Harper and others - while maintaining Roper's strong and unique expression in the genre. Jesse is a master at connecting his personal story and experiences to his songwriting - crafting narratives that hit on life's challenges and eccentricities - but that remain upbeat, engaging and wildly entertaining songs.

Adventuresome doesn’t properly describe Roper as an artist because when the guitar-wielding dynamo sets out to accomplish something, there’s no telling where his mind will wander or when his energy will go.

Reuben Bullock is a multifaceted artist, renowned for his role as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the acclaimed indie-folk band, Reuben and the Dark. The career of Reuben, a Calgary-born, currently Victoria-based singer-songwriter, skateboarder, carpenter, and preacher's son is marked by a series of milestones that underscore his profound impact on the Canadian music landscape over the last 10 years.

Reuben and the Dark have graced stages across the globe, captivating audiences with their raw energy and emotive storytelling. From hundreds of intimate club venues to prestigious music festivals, the band’s dynamic stage presence and charisma have left an indelible impression on all who witness their performances. Notable appearances include supporting Vance Joy, Mumford and Sons, Boy & Bear and The Paper Kites, festival performances as Osheaga and Austin City Limits and performing original music with Ulysses’s the Odyssey Greek Theatre of Siracusa Sicily to name a few.

Reuben and the Dark's music has also found widespread acclaim in the realm of film and television. Their haunting melodies have been featured in numerous film trailers, television series, and commercials including but certainly not limited to The Highwaymen, El Camino, Celebrity Cruises, and Grey's Anatomy, earning praise for its ability to enhance and elevate cinematic storytelling. RATD’s collaboration with Bullhorn Singers - a Blackfoot Powwow singing group from Kainai - has become an unintentional success story. Their recent placement in Martin Scorsese’s trailer for 2024 Best Picture Oscar Nominee, Flowers of the Killer Moon, put this collaboration project on the world map ahead of planned activities throughout 2024/2025.

Across the last 4 full length record release campaigns with Arts & Crafts, Reuben and the Dark have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including nominations for the JUNO Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards, and SOCAN Songwriting Prize. The band looks ahead to new music in 2025 as well as extensive touring and collaboration in partnership with Bullhorn Singers.
